Link Aadhaar with PAN : A Quick Guide

linking your Aadhaar card with your PAN (Permanent Account Number) card is mandatory. This process simplifies tax filing and ensures smoother transactions. Here's a quick guide to get you started:

Who Needs to Link?

Everyone who has a PAN card issued before July 1, 2017 and also possesses an Aadhaar card must link them. There are some exceptions for non-resident Indians and individuals above 80 years old.

How to Link?

There are two ways to link your Aadhaar with PAN:
Online: This is the easiest method. Visit the Income Tax Department's e-filing portal (https://www.incometax.gov.in/iec/foportal/) and look for the "Link Aadhaar" option under the "Quick Links" section on the homepage. Alternatively, you can log in to the portal and find the option under your profile settings.
  • Enter your PAN and Aadhaar number.
  • Verify your details using a one-time password (OTP) sent to your registered mobile number.
  • That's it! Your Aadhaar and PAN will be linked.
Through Banks: Some banks also offer PAN-Aadhaar linking services. You can visit your bank branch and inquire about the process.
